Alpha and Omega: The Jesus I Need to Know | Week 3 “One Step at a Time”
Devotional: Trusting in Jesus, One Step at a Time
Main Verse: John 8:12-20
_”When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'” (John 8:12, NIV)
In Pastor Brad Riley’s Week 3 sermon of the Alpha and Omega series, we are reminded that trusting in Jesus is a journey. Just as Jesus declared Himself the light of the world, guiding us out of darkness, our faith walk is illuminated one step at a time.
Trusting in Jesus doesn’t mean we have all the answers or that our path is always clear. It means we rely on His light to guide us through each moment, each decision, and each challenge. It’s okay to take it one step at a time, knowing that Jesus is with us, leading us forward.
As we reflect on John 8:12-20, let’s remember that Jesus’ presence in our lives brings clarity and direction. He promises that those who follow Him will never walk in darkness. This assurance allows us to trust Him with our uncertainties and fears, knowing that His light will always show us the way.
Reflection Questions:
1. How can you rely on Jesus’ light in your daily decisions?
2. What steps can you take to deepen your trust in Him?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the light of the world. Help us to trust You more each day, taking one step at a time in our journey of faith. Illuminate our path and guide us through the darkness. Amen.
Invitation:
Join us next Sunday for Week 4 of the Alpha and Omega series. After the service, we’ll gather for the second week of Alpha with lunch and group discussion. Let’s continue this journey together, supporting and encouraging one another in our faith.
May your week be filled with the light of Christ, guiding you every step of the way.
